On the evening of January 17th, DAWN (002838) announced that the company has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China National Textile Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "China Textile Institute") in the morning of January 16th. Announcement shows that in order to optimize the product structure and improve the comprehensive strength, the company plans to invest in the construction of 120,000 tons/year biodegradable resin (PBAt) project, among which the phase I project of 60,000 tons/year continuous polymerization production device will be commissioned by China Textile Institute to undertake, the total contract amount of both parties is 265 million yuan.

Nowadays, under the background of environmental protection policies such as "plastic limit order" and technological progress, the market of degradable materials and paper packaging which has been laid for a long time has officially entered the outbreak period. Biodegradable plastics have become the preferred alternative material for common plastics due to their high performance and superior environmental protection. Related industry reports predict that the market scale of degradable plastics in China will reach 35.8 billion yuan in 2025. Thermoplastic biodegradable plastics (PBAT) has always been considered as one of the most potential degradable plastics products in the industry, and the future growth space is generally optimistic. At home, there have been golden hair, wanhua, jindan and other enterprises have layout in this field.

As the leading domestic polymer materials, DAWN shares integrated above and downstream, striving to be the most competitive degradable industry leader for the development orientation, give full play to the accumulated technical strength and brand strength over the years, actively carry out the development and production of related products, to develop the market of degradable plastics. It is understood that Dawn has stored degradable modified plastic technology in the early stage, forming a series of product reserves, and part of the products have been completed industrialization. At present, the company's degradable plastics mainly include fully degradable PLA/ PKAT alloy modified series products, fully degradable PLA/ PKAT + starch alloy modified series modifiers, modified masterbatch products and low carbon degradable products, among which, the company's modified degradable series materials have obtained the European Union TUV biodegradation certification. The products of the downstream customers (packaging bags) have been certified by the European Union, Japan, the United States and other countries, and exported in small quantities.

Dawn shares said that this agreement and the signing of the contract, the purpose of the biodegradable field to carry out close cooperation, jointly promote the development of the biodegradable field of both parties. It is beneficial to advance into the upstream biodegradable synthesis field, extend the industrial chain of the company, enhance the competitiveness of the company in the market, and further improve the sustainable profitability of the company, which is in line with the long-term development strategy of the company and the interests of all shareholders.

Industry insiders said that the cooperation between DAWN and China Textile Institute is expected to further accelerate the development of the industry, help environmental protection, and achieve a leap in the value of the company. At present, the company's research and development and downstream customer coverage level has been equipped with degradable plastic leading temperament, the future development is worth looking forward to.
